stamps and spilled water.
I have a habit of leaving glasses of water on the floor all over the house. I knock over a glass of water beside my bed, in the living room, or in the dining room every couple days. Today the glass of water was acting as a paper weight on the exams I was grading while I sat in the sunshine. Of course, when I got up, I knocked it over and saturated the entire stack.
So what do you do when you feel bad about handing a student back a crinkled exam? Make a cute apology stamp. :D

breakfasts, part I.
I'm not a big fan of oatmeal (or hot cereal, pretty similar). I never really have been. When my mom would make oatmeal for me when I was little, I always dumped a bunch of chocolate chips in it. The oatmeal tasted more like cookie batter, but left me uncomfortably full. I still don't really like oatmeal. I love oatmeal in breads, cookies, etc, but the hot breakfast thing doesn't do much for me. The only way I'll eat it is with brown sugar and lots of fruit. So much fruit that eat bite has at least 50% fruit in it.
Yesterday my friend Ashley gave me the idea to eat a peanut butter and alfalfa sprout sandwich. My mom got me into peanut butter and tomato toast, my dad eats peanut butter and onion toast, and I like peanut butter and lettuce sandwiches. yep. So this morning for breakfast I had peanut butter, sprouts, spinach, and tomato on toast. It was weird and good. :D
I want some more unusual breakfast ideas.

eek
Today's the last day of my spring break. I don't feel like I had a break at all. I went to Gainesville and hung out with my cousin for a few days, which was awesome, but while she was in class I cranked out a ton of work. Then I headed to Orlando for Liz and David's wedding. Friday was the actual wedding and since I was a bridesmaid, Friday was really busy (hence the lack of a happy friday).
I'm pretty sure the next month is going to be one of the busiest months of all time. I don't know how much I'll get to make stuff. I'm looking forward to an entire summer of trying new recipes and crafting though.
Here's a cute picture from the wedding:

Mini Yellow Buttermilk Cupcakes with Chocolate "Buttercream" Frosting
These are so good! Our spring break just started, so Friday was the last day to see my students before Pi Day (this Sunday, 3/14). I made these and stuck a toothpick with a digit of pi in each one. In the end I had around 40 decimal digits of pi. Here are some:
I actually made these for two of my classes. The other set's signs were in green. Of course the last three cupcakes of both sets had "." :

extra credit and zucchini bread.
Above: some of the platonic solids my students made!
I made some healthy zucchini bread last night. [ Recipe ] My edits: subbed 1/2 whole wheat flour, replaced all oil with applesauce, and used vanilla extract instead of lemon (don't have any lemons or lemon extract around).

sweet potato chips, homemade balsamic honey dressing, and a dodecahedron.
I have had the perfect Sunday.
I woke up, drank some coffee, and graded for a couple hours. Then I went on a long run and when I came home I decided I wanted to participate in the extra credit assignment I gave my students. They just learned about platonic solids (LOVE) and I told them to construct either a dodecahedron or an icosahedron out of cardboard, straws, whatever.
I made a vinyl bean-bag dodecahedron (pictured above as well):
The construction was unplanned and went something like this:
(If you are unfamiliar with the platonic solids, below is an image of the dodecahedron)
Then I made some balsamic honey salad dressing (1/2 cup balsamic vinegar, 1/4 olive oil, 1/4 cup honey, 1 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp stone ground mustard). Homemade dressings are so yummy.
And I made some sweet potato "chips" in the oven. My dinner didn't make any sense (salad and chips?), but both were good.

this week has been stressful enough that I forgot a Happy Friday. That never happens. I didn't really have a Happy Friday, though, so it's sort of appropriate.
One more week and I can see some close friends and have a week off.
Hope your Sunday is nice. I plan to wake up super early and grade/grade/grade, calculate midterm grades, and plan lectures.
